Más allá de Marx: postobrerismo y posmarxismo. Una revisión de los fundamentos teóricos de la multitud y el pueblo
2018
The article is a synthetic essay that exposes the main theoretical lines of the postmarxist approach of Laclau and Mouffe, on the one hand, and the autonomist post-operaism of Negri, Hardt, Virno, etc., on the other hand. These theories are conceived as attempts to rationalize current political bets by various political sectors and social movements. It analyzes both argumentative strategies from «orthodox» Marxism and the structure / superstructure relationship; and the forms of constitution of new subjectivities. It compares the theoretical fundamentals of hegemonic articulations and counter-power experiences. It discusses, likewise, the scope and limitations of the categories of «people» …
Models and Streams of Data Journalism
2015
This paper presents the initial results of a two-year research project, the Data Journalism Work Practices, which focuses on newsrooms in Finland, UK and US. Data journalism or data-driven journalism has been defined simply as journalism based on large data sets (or big data) Rogers 2011; Bounegru et al. 2012). In this paper we will argue that all the brief definitions of data journalism lack nuances, and the multiple layers that contemporary data journalism already consists of in newsrooms. Based on six interviews of leading Finnish, American and British data journalists we …

2013
The present paper aims to compare the image of the eco-tourist across languages and cultures, Canadian and Italian. An ad-hoc comparable corpus has been created from the official websites of National Parks which represent a kind of eco-tourist destination. The analysis attempts to trace a profile of Canadian and Italian eco-tourists Drawing upon the Functional Grammar (Halliday 1985) and addresses issues connected with Hall’s model (1983): Are Canadian and Italian ecotourism discourses shaped by their own cultural orientation, or do they attempt to speak in the tongue of the displaced tourist?
